La Maison d’Estournel, France

Fourteen room Boutique Mansion, La Maison d'Estournel, Saint-Estèphe

Nestling in the Bordeaux Vineyard Region, La Maison D’Estournel is a country home where the living is easy. It offers an experience all its own ensuring a simple and authentic stay in the heart of nature.

Elegant 18th century Mansion, neighbor of Château Cos d'Estournel winery

A mere one-hour drive from Bordeaux, the Haut-Médoc region stretches languorously along the Gironde estuary amid verdant scenery featuring slopes planted with some of the world’s most famous vineyards.

The tone is set right from the start: guests are made to feel at home here. The huge open space on the ground floor is designed like a private residence, where you can move smoothly between the cozy lounge with its spectacular fireplace as well as between the library and the kitchen. Everyone does exactly what they feel like.

The dining room with its large convivial tables, as well as between the library and the kitchen – the latter being freely accessible to those wishing to discover the secrets of the chef at work. Ignoring the conventional codes of the traditional hotel industry, this is a place dedicated to an art of living in complete simplicity, where guests can even try their hand in the kitchen if the fancy takes them.

In the Bordeaux region, no mansion would be complete without a cellar… and here, once again, Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel had everything planned. The basement of his house conceals a superb vaulted cellar made entirely of stone, into which daylight streams through a dedicated window. The tasting area is devoted to the wines of Cos d’Estournel.

Feeling at home in a charming residence dedicated to the joy of recharging one’s batteries in the countryside. A variety of different experiences to forget everything and fully savor a relaxed interlude that is all too rare in daily life. Five-acre grounds with centuries-old trees from which one can glimpse the silhouette of a boat appearing to sail over the vineyards.
